Who are the saints?
All Saints Day for kids, and the saints Katie and Patrick meet in Chime Travelers.
Saints are people who loved God and others in a big way during their lives and are now with God in heaven. On All Saints Day, November 1, the Catholic Church celebrates every one of them: the famous saints and the many whose names only God knows. This year All Saints Day falls on a Sunday. The next day, Monday November 2, is All Souls Day, when we pray for everyone who has died.
Dates for 2026
- All Saints Day: Sunday 1 November
- All Souls Day: Monday 2 November
Meet the saints from Chime Travelers
In Season One of Chime Travelers, twins Katie and Patrick travel back in time and learn from these saints:
- Saint Patrick (feast day March 17). Pirates kidnapped Patrick as a teenager and took him to Ireland, where he worked as a shepherd. After he escaped, God called him back to Ireland to share the faith, and he did. Read Rylee's fun facts about Saint Patrick.
- Saint Kateri Tekakwitha (feast day July 14 in the United States). Kateri was born in 1656 in a Mohawk village in what is now New York. She became a Christian as a young woman even when it was hard, and in 2012 she became the first Native American saint.
- Saint Francis of Assisi (feast day October 4). Francis gave up a rich life to live simply and serve the poor. He loved all of God's creatures and set up one of the first Christmas nativity scenes, in 1223.
- Saint Clare of Assisi (feast day August 11). Clare was a friend of Saint Francis. She started a community of sisters who lived simply and prayed for the world. They are now called the Poor Clares.
- The Holy Family: Jesus, Mary and Joseph (feast day the Sunday after Christmas, December 27 this year). The Holy Family shows us how a family can love and care for each other.
